FAQ

A short list of our most frequently asked questions.

How far are Dreamer Circle properties from the beach and town?

All Dreamer Circle properties are in the perfect location, directly above the beach and surf break of Sayulita! It's only a 1 1/2 block walk to the beach and town via a beautifully paved and landscaped walkway. The hill is not a problem for most people, however, if you have elderly folks or children under 4 years old in your party, you may want to consider renting a golf cart. Many people use them in town, and they can be parked on the streets. They are fun to zip around in and much easier than cars. If you are staying at Casa Paloma, you can rent our golf cart. Otherwise, you can rent one in town. We provide recommendations when properties are booked.

What is safety like is Sayulita?

Sayulita is a very friendly and safe town. There have been no problems in the area regarding drug trafficking, etc. This town is super family friendly. Children, both local and tourist, play on the beaches, plaza, etc. As long as houses are locked, there are no problems with theft and we have had none. There are also safes in each bedroom.

How is surfing in Sayulita?

Sayulita’s central beach, just below Dreamer Circle, is a great place for beginning surfers (board, SUP, and body surfing). 100 yards further down the beach the waves are bigger. There are waves year round. The waves tend to be the smaller in the summer. There can occasionally be big swells in the winter.

What's the best way to exchange money?

There are several ATM’s at the Puerto Vallarta airport and in Sayulita. Before your trip, be sure to notify your bank and credit card companies that you will be using your cards in Mexico. Visa or Master Card is more widely accepted than American Express. Some restaurants and shops in Sayulita do not accept credit cards.

You can exchange your money for pesos at the airport, but expect poor rates. Sayulita has several money exchange places and the rate is generally better. The best rate is at a bank. If you arrive before 5:00 pm, you can ask your driver to take you to one of the banks at Plaza Marina or Actinver next to the Mega Store.

Family trip to Sayulita, Mexico

star-onstar-onstar-onstar-onstar-on

We choose Villa Colina for our family vacation. We were 5 adults and 4 children, age 4 to 14. We all enjoyed the stay at Villa Colina tremendously. It was everything I had hoped for. The house was spacious and the three bedroom suites were on different levels, so all the adults had some privacy. My grandchildren loved the pool and became fond of the house cat. I was impressed by the art around the house and the views from the different levels of the house. The location was excellent. It was very close to downtown and the beach. The manager Ernesto arranged our transportation from and to the airport, which was a great help. The drivers even stopped at a supermarket so that we could get groceries. I highly recommend this property as a place to experience a great family vacation.

Family “Reunion” Trip

star-onstar-onstar-onstar-onstar-on

We met my mom, sister & brother at Villa Colina with our 7 month old. Villa Colina was a great location, very close to town, but also out of the hustle & bustle of the square. Having a pool was great, because we could still enjoy sunshine while the baby took a nap. Villa Colina provided the perfect setting for the new aunt/uncle/grandma to enjoy the new baby in the family, as well as provide time for everyone to relax and enjoy each other.

Family gathering

We visited Villa Colina with my three children, son in law and baby. It was a perfect setting for relaxation, convenience and comfort. We were close to the beach and town but still with privacy. The amenities were great. I would highly recommend as a vacation spot.

Weather

The Central Pacific Coast of Mexico is surrounded by jungle and receives 345 days of sunshine per year. Located on the same latitude as the Hawaiian Islands, its sub-tropical climate is often compared to Hawaii’s. Temperatures reach 90 degrees F (32 C) during the summer, along with high humidity, but at night, the onshore breeze from the Bay of Banderas brings cool air that makes for pleasant sleeping conditions. The rainy season is June through September, however, August and September are considered the two “rainy” months. On average, September has 15 wet days per month, while January has only two. Rain usually doesn’t start until late in the afternoon, leaving most of the day free for outdoor activities. The Bay of Banderas also offers shelter from harsh Pacific winds and hard weather in winter. November through May, the peak tourist season, are generally warm, sunny and dry, with comfortable, balmy nights.
